Henry Liddon

Liddon was an influential figure in the Anglican Church for much of the second half of the 19th century, as vice-principal of St Edmund Hall, Oxford, as a professor of theology at the same university, and most significantly as Dean of St Paul’s in London, where his sermons often attracted thousands of listeners. He was a somewhat conservative thinker, a defender of the principles of the Oxford Movement after the departure of Newman.
