John Kendrew
Born in Oxford, OxfordshireBorn on 24th of March 1917
Died on 23rd of August 1997
Kendrew was educated at the Dragon School, Clifton College, and Trinity College, Cambridge, then served at the Air Ministry and with the RAF during WWII. He worked at the Cavendish Laboratory, and the Royal Institution, and was a fellow of Peterhouse College, Cambridge. In 1962 he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Chemistry with his colleague Max Perutz for their X-ray crystallography work determining the atomic structure of proteins.
