Brian Johnston
- Favourite Briton.

Born in Little Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire
Born on 24th of June 1912

Eton, Oxford, and the Grenadier guards, Brian Johnson was a very British figure whose voice became a distinctive part of British summers for decades. ‘Johnners’ as he was known to Test Match Special listeners worked without great enthusiasm in the family coffee business in London, Germany and Brazil before WWII, but after his service in that conflict began a career at the BBC. He presented Down Your Way for 733 episodes, and appeared on many other TV and radio shows, but will always be remembered for his cricket commentaries that exuded a genuine love for the game, and for cake.
