Born 1863.  Died 1935 - Labour politician and Nobel Prize winner.
Worked as an iron-moulder before becoming a lay preacher.  Elected an MP in 1903.  Became Home Secretary in 1924 and Foreign Secretary (1929-31).  Was President of the World Disarmament Conference in 1932.  Won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1934.
