Signed as a professional at Crystal Palace.when he was almost 22. Played there from 1985 to 1991 before moving to Arsenal where scored a total of 185 goals in 279 starts and 9 substitute appearances. Was an FA Cup winner in 1993 & 1998 and won the Cup Winners Cup in 1994. Made his debut for England 1991 making 31 appearances and scoring nine goals. Retired in 2000 becoming a media personality and football pundit.
