Born 1914. Died 1998 - English physiologist and Nobel Prize winner.
Studied natural sciences at Trinity College. Cambridge. During WW2 worked on airborne radar research then with Andrew Huxley on the conduction of nerve impulses. Shared 1963 Nobel Prize for physiology or medicine. Received Order of Merit (1973).
