Born 1503. Died 1528 - Scottish churchman and martyr.
Illegimate son of the second of James II. Forced to leave Scotland due to his Lutheranism. Wrote Patrick’s Place which put forward the doctrines of the Lutherans. Returned to Scotland in 1527, was summoned to appear before a council of bishops and clergy charged with heresy. Was burned at the stake outside the front entrance to St Salvator's Chapel. His martyrdom helped to spread the Reformation in Scotland.
