Played for nearly 20 years at the top level for Leicester City, Hull City, Sunderland, Manchester City and Leeds United. Won 6 England caps and FA Cup losers and winners medals with Manchester City. Named Footballer of the Year in 1955. Moved on to manage Leeds United and then England for three years. Diagnosed with motor neurone disease, spent last two years of his life campaigning to raise funds for charities associated with the disease.
