Richard Corbet

Born 1582. Died 1635 - English poet and prelate.
Made Dean of Christ Church in 1620 and Bishop of Oxford in 1624, then of Norwich in 1632. His Certaine Elegant Poems (1647) were published posthumously as was his other volume Poetica Stromata (1648). Best known poem is Faeries Farewell; longest poem is Iter Boreale (a holiday tour of four students from Oxford to Newark). Buried in Norwich Cathedral.
