Died on 14th of July 1742
1662 -1742. English classical scholar.
Educated at St John’s College, Cambridge. Made name as classical scholar with work on the Greek chronicler John Malelas. Delivered the first Robert Boyle lectures in Oxford. Master of Trinity College in 1700 and Regius Professor of Divinity in 1717.
