Trained at Glasgow Art School. Designed stage sets before writing first play Writer’s Cramp. Other plays include The Slab Boys (1978), first part of a triology and Cara Coco (1982). Wrote television series Tutti Frutti (1987) and Your Cheatin’ Heart (1989). Awarded MBE in 2001.
