Ludlow, Shropshire is a thriving market town - an architectural gem full of medieval and Georgian buildings - but it's no museum, there's definitely a lively community feel. Ludlow bustles with events throughout the year. It is surrounded by the unspoilt and beautiful hilly countryside of south Shropshire and the Welsh border country, known as the Welsh Marches. This web site has the information you need about Ludlow, from Where to Stay, What's on to Where to Eat. Details of community information, schools and much more can be found on these pages.
There are more than 200 listed buildings in the town centre. In recent years, Ludlow and the surrounding area has acquired an international reputation for the quality of its food and drink. Some of the best restaurants in Britain can be found here, encouraged by the area's abundance of top-quality food and drink producers and suppliers. Every September, the showcase for this is the Ludlow & Marches Food and Drink Festival, when the town is filled with food lovers from all over the UK, and beyond.
The annual Ludlow Festival (3 weeks in June and July) features an open-air production of Shakespeare in the Castle, and a whole host of arts and music events, complete with a fringe.
