Is to be found on the outskirts of Telford and forms part of this New Town that was created in 1968 and covers some 20,000 acres covering Wellington, Oakengates, Donnington, Madeley, Dawley and Ironbridge. Bratton is to be found on the outskirts of Telford, to the north west, on the fringe of the open countryside that surrounds this relatively new town. The M54 lies to the south and beyond that, for the keen golfer is the Wrekin Golf Club, a parkland course with some tricky holes and excellent views for those whose golf is below par! Telford Town Centre offers a wide variety of major chain stores and facilities for those who reside in the area and Bratton is around five minutes away. Bratton is an excellent location for those who wish to tour the area, Ironbridge and its famous Victorian working museum, Thomas Telford’s original ironbridge still looking as imposing today as when it was first built straddling the River Severn at Ironbridge, and here there are further museums depicting life as it used to be. The old market town of Shrewsbury and Ludlow are also relatively close by as are many other interesting villages which are a delight to visit.
