Wrington is an attractive village placed at the foot of the Mendip Hills in the soul pleasing Yeo River Valley, in northern Somerset. The village dates far back into history to Roman and Saxon times, other centuries are not forgotten with the impressive church of All Saints which stands on 13th Century foundations, the eye is drawn aloft to the rising tower which dominates the skyline, inside will uncover treasures of stained glass windows and majestic architecture, the church is also the final resting place for poet, and playwright Hannah More, who was an influential player in the quest to improve conditions for miners, and agricultural workers, and she played an important role in the fight to abolish African slavery. A stroll around the village will uncover Broad Street, where buildings from an elegant era line the road, interesting shops, and restaurants are easily discovered in the birth place of philosopher John Locke, who was born in 1632 in his grandmother's thatched cottage, next to the church. Walkers and ramblers will linger in the surrounding countryside, whilst artists should pack an extra brush, the village is small, although it's like a smile prettily formed, it pleases everyone
