The village and parish of Fitzhead are situated in the picturesque English county of Somerset, about six miles North West of Taunton, in the Taunton Deane district. The area around Fitzhead boasts two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Blackdown and the Quantock Hills. There's also the surrounding Somerset Levels and Moors, the Brendon Hill and close by is Wiveliscombe which is known as the gateway to Exmoor. Fitzhead boasts a great deal of stunning countryside, tourist attractions and quality accommodation. Options for lodgings include the Fitzhead Inn, with its cosy open fire, oak beams, friendly atmosphere and seven luxury en-suite rooms. The local church is St James' which plays an active role in the community. The old Tithe Hall has been converted to a venue to host parties and events. Fitzhead Court was once the principal residence of Lord Ashburton, who built the Town Hall in nearby Wiveliscombe in the late 19th century. Fitzhead is part of the hub of ten villages, which has Wiveliscombe as its head. Outdoor activities in the area include fishing for trout on the peaceful waters of Clatworthy Reservoir or Wimbleball Lake, horse-riding or simply taking a long walk through the idyllic countryside.
