The village of Felton is found in the northern part of the English County of Somerset. It lies about eight miles to the south of Bristol and is just to the east of Bristol Airport, close to the A38 trunk road. Bristol Airport offers a wide range of destinations including domestic, European and world wide. Between the village and the airport, on Felton Common, there is the church of St. Katherine and All Holy Martyrs, which was built around 1868. There are also the remains of Broadfield Windmill, now converted into a private house. Another local place of interest is the nearby Hartcliff Rocks Quarry, designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest, due to its Triassic Dolomitic Conglomerate unconformably overlying Carboniferous Limestone. This together with the pink barite and the calcite-barite veins and neptunian dykes make for a spectacular landscape visually, as well as providing much interest to Scientists and Geologists alike. Accommodation can be found in Felton at the George and Dragon Inn, a beautiful 16th century Coaching House that was originally built around 1575. The George and Dragon offers ensuite rooms with TV and is only 2 minutes from Bristol Airport. It also offers undercover parking facilities.
