Congresbury is a pleasant village positioned on the banks of the Yeo River, in the county of Somerset and is home to nearly four thousand people. It's set close to the Mendip Hills between Western Super Mare and the historic city of Bristol. It dates as far back in history as the Iron Age and beyond when the first settlers farmed here, a tradition which carried on right through the centuries. Today the village still has numerous farms which lend a country feel, there's a mixture of pretty houses and cottages lining the roads and a good range of shops on offer catering to everyday needs. Walkers and cyclists are drawn to Congresbury with its attractive surrounding countryside where a network of paths can be explored, although a gentle stroll along the High Street uncovers a wide choice of pubs on offer and ancient Inns which link with the past. The village is dominated by an impressive 12th Century church that's dedicated to St Andrew which has a fabulous 15th Century tower that's topped by a 120' spire, and for those who wish to stay a while there's a choice of B&B's, cottages and an impressive boutique hotel to enjoy.
