Llandinam is an attractive village with an interesting history that's positioned in Powys in Central Wales, and is home to just over nine hundred people. The Romans settled close by in centuries past, and later in the 6th Century Llandinam was the chosen site for a Celtic Monastery which later became the impressive church dedicated to Saint Llonio. There is an abundance of picturesque black and white timber framed houses and cottages lining the lanes and roads, which were one of the first rural locations in Montgomeryshire to have street lighting. This was also the home of the exceptional 19th Century entrepreneur and industrialist who lived in the village. David Davies rose from humble beginings and eventually became a huge influence during the Industrial Revolution where he made his fortunes in bridge building, railways, and coal. His impressive statue stands proudly in the village with him holding the plans for Barry Docks. This award winning village is set against a breathtaking backdrop, with the rising slopes of the Llandinam Hills which dominate the skyline, and if that wasn't enough the River Severn flows through the village ensuring visitors are often tempted to try their luck at fishing, walking, or just enjoying this friendly Welsh gem.
