Cloghran is the area in which Dublin International Airport is located, and so much of it is characterised by hotels. With more than 23 million passengers passing through the airport every year, Cloghran is the ideal base for flyers with an early check-in or a late arrival time. The airport is one of Europe's ten busiest, operating more than 200 routes, but it's only six miles north of Dublin's city centre, and many of the hotels in Cloghran run shuttle buses into town. This gives guests easy access to a wonderfully historic city which has also become famous in recent years for its vibrant nightlife, particularly in the Temple Bar district where people flock to eat, drink, go clubbing and enjoy the arts. Other great attractions to explore include Grafton Street, St Stephen's Green, Phoenix Park and its zoo, Dublin Castle, the Guinness Brewery and the Old Jameson Distillery. Closer to Cloghran, visitors are welcome at the Silloge 18-hole parkland golf course. This is the location of the Christy O'Connor Golf Club, run by the famous golfer's two sons. Also nearby and worth visiting is the beautiful Ward River Valley Regional Park, which contains woodlands, wetlands, grassland and the impressive Swords Castle.
