Events in Steyning | 10 Places to Stay
A small town cloaked by the South Downs near to the River Adur complete with Medieval houses. A visit to this pretty town will have you reaching for your camera or paint brushes. The church of Saint Andrews originally founded by a Saxon Saint is probably one of the best Norman structures still standing today.
Steyning was on the Coaching route from London and weary travellers stopped for a drink or something to eat in the hostelries and Inns, lucky for us you can do the same and experience the charm.
The Museum has a wealth of treasures to be explored or why not visit the high street, where the historic buildings and shops will definitely please. Bramber Castle built in 1073 was destroyed during the civil war by Cromwell’s guns is close by.
With many attractions such as the impressive St Mary’s House and gardens which is an enchanting 15th Century Timber framed house, 5 acres of gardens with a prehistoric fossil tree and secret Victorian garden and amazing topiary, time it right an experience one of the spectacular concerts . Steyning is like a special box of chocolates waiting for the lid to be taken off.
