At the foot of the South Downs, is a pretty village Sprinkled with captivating thatch cottages, the River Arun lies just north of the village. Close towns are Storrington, with the elegant Elizabethan Parham House, set within an ancient Deer Park, and is an enjoyable day out. West Chiltington, Arundel and Hardham whose Church proudly displays Medieval Wall Hangings, are also close by. One “must do, must see place“, is The Amberley Working Museum, spread over 36 acres, enjoy the opportunity of riding on a steam train, or old tram, time your visit right, and one of the many festivals may be taking place. Visiting in December? Climb aboard the steam train and journey to a themed grotto. If you can’t wait that long take teddy with you as the Teddy Bears Picnic is in August. Wild Brooks Nature Reserve shares it’s beauty, with clouds reflected in the water, or the birds as they take flight, is a must for walkers, birdwatchers, photographers and painters alike. Amberley Castle, 900 years of history oozes from this converted castle, it’s Medieval architecture is breathtaking and the portcullis unusual for a hotel. The beguiling spell cast by Amberley will last forever
