Milton Ernest is a delightful village nestling between Bedford and Higham Ferrers, the village boasts a pretty church facing the village green, All Saints church dates back to the 12th Century with stunning jewel inspired leaded windows to the spectacular tower makes for an interesting visit. Just two miles away is 17th Century Bromham Mill, the scene is perfectly set to inspire any artist or writer with the Mill perched on the River Great Ouse, there has been a Mill on this site for centuries, visitors today have the added joy of watching this working wonder grind flour, there is an Art Gallery with exhibits of glass, ceramics and impressive textiles, or perhaps a well deserved coffee by the river, or spoil yourself and take a picnic, all set in 7 acres of countryside, there is even a 26 arch bridge close by, what more could be asked or wished for, perhaps a ride on a tractor, pop over to Bedfordia Farm where there is a machinery display, time it right and join in with the ’hog roast’ there are even games and quizzes to enjoy. Milton Ernest and nearby villages promise memories to be savoured and moments to treasure.
