Sandhurst is a small town with a rich history, famous for it’s Royal Military Academy where some of the most famous Alumni include Winston Churchill, Prince Charles and of course Prince William. The town borders Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire and is home to 21.5 thousand people. There is much pleasure to be gained from the great outdoors and Shepherd Meadows and Sandhurst Memorial Park are side by side on the River Blackwater. Or there is always Trilakes Animal Park and Fisheries, where delightful Pot Bellied Pigs, Ducks, Ponies and so much more is on offer. Or perhaps the elegance at Stratfield House is more for you, built in 1630, has been home to The Duke Of Wellington since 1817, with many treasures inside. Outside the grounds and gardens are ready to be explored complete with the first Duke’s horse that rode him into the Battle Of Waterloo. A visit to the Aldershot Military Museum will tell a fascinating story, where exhibits include Howitzer, a 1953 ambulance or even an Air Raid Warden’s Shelter. Bird World and Underwater World won’t fail to please, set within 26 acres of parkland and landscaped gardens with birds from around the Globe, such as Eyton’s Whistling Ducks, Witch Dove, or how about a laughing Kookaburra….
