Datchet is a pretty village on the banks of the River Thames opposite Windsor Castle, which will have photographers reaching for their cameras in an instant, There is a delightful Village Green that has some of the oldest and prettiest buildings skirting the edge of it. One of the best ways to enjoy the area is by cruising up the Thames on one of the many boat trips on offer. For walkers a riverside walk with the beauty of birds and majestic swans swimming up the river, or walk over to Home Park across the bridge into Eton Playing Fields positioned behind Eton College which was founded in 1440 by King Henry V1, take a tour inside and see ‘The School yard’, ‘College Chapel’, ‘The Cloisters’ or even the museum which has 400 exhibits.
