Keynsham is a Market town with a rich history, surrounded by woodland and countryside, and is ideally placed to explore both the city of Bath and Bristol. The town has a market every month and many interesting shops to visit. There is a walking route that has many mosaics explaining the towns rich history from Prehistoric, Roman and Medieval times. The great outdoors has much to offer from the River Avon Trail that takes in the idyllic scenes of the river, or the Community Forest Path expands 45 miles of terrific countryside treasures. For history lovers you will be spoilt for choice from the wonders of Roman and Georgian delights in Bath to perhaps the Clifton Suspension bridge which is a stunning engineering feat that spans across the Avon Gorge. Or maybe the magnificent buildings of Bristol Cathedral founded in 1140,is breathtaking, or perhaps take a look at Bath Abbey founded in the 7th Century and will challenge any artist to capture the stunning architecture. For the magic of steam travel climb aboard one of the locomotives and journey along the Avon Valley with special themed days and a chance of driving the locomotive yourself, what more could be asked for
