Known in the 12th century as "Haneforde" possibly meaning "a ford frequented by game birds". The town of Handforth is located in the picturesque County of Cheshire within easy travelling distance of Manchester City Centre that is possibly one of the most cosmopolitan cities of the North West. Set in rural countryside Handforth also benefits from a range of good local amenities and the shopping area features a range of local traditional retailers. Located at Handforth Dean is the ubiquitous retail park home to some major retailing names. The Trafford Centre is about twenty minutes away by car and this offers a huge range of major retailers and restaurants for those whom “retail therapy” is a way of life. Handforth though is more rural and the pace of life you enjoy there is determined by you – you may want to take a stroll through the village, participate in some shopping and enjoy lunch. On the other hand you may find that you have meetings elsewhere in the country and as the M56 is conveniently close then access to the arterial motorway network is relatively easy. If on the other hand you need the train then Handforth Station offers direct access to Manchester or Crewe from where connections can be made to towns and cities throughout the country. Nowadays the world is getting smaller and with Manchester Airport just four miles away travel on business or pleasure makes Handforth one of the most accessible locations there is.
