Farndon is an attractive village on the banks of the River Dee in Cheshire, home to over 1500 people. Blessed with pretty buildings dating back over the centuries, and a Medieval bridge that links with Holt in Wales. Only a few miles from Chester which has a stunning Cathedral, where a tour around this architectural masterpiece will share it’s chequered past, jewel coloured stained glass windows, and Medieval carvings. Or if castles are more for you how about Chester Castle dating back to the Normans, or maybe Chirk Castle will unveil it’s legacy with a walk through Medieval Hunting grounds which reverses time with a glimpse at the Dungeon and Servants Hall. Why not blow away the cobwebs with a gentle stroll along the river, or walk on the Heath where the Battle of Rowton took place during the Civil War. Animal lovers will be tempted with a visit to Farmworld, or perhaps Chester Zoo will beckon as it’s home to seven thousand animals. For the inquisitive Bersham Iron Works won’t fail to please, or possibly the Cheshire Military Museum will uncover 300 years of history through intriguing exhibits. Or perhaps Stretton Watermill will grant any wish of seeing a working Water Mill in all it’s glory, set within enchanting surroundings.
