| Events in Whitsand Bay | 10 Places to Stay

Whitsand Bay is a small town in South East Cornwall with a sweeping bay of miles of sandy beach backed by steep slate cliffs, it’s popular with divers and surfers, and for the fishermen amongst you there is a choice of beach or rock fishing where Conger Eels, and even Pollack may end up on the end of your line. Perhaps the shimmering silence of diving a wreck just a mile off shore, well HMS Scylla was deliberately sunk to form a barrier reef and a marine research site. A visit to the sleepy fishing village of Port Wrinkle with it’s small harbour or the Golf Club, an 18 hole cliff top course with breathtaking views over the Rame Peninsular will surely please. Or why not visit The Monkey Sanctuary which has a colony of Monkeys, there is also rabbits, squirrels and even bats to be seen, with woodland gardens overlooking Looe bay, or why not have a close look at the pond where frogs, and Toads swim and the magical iridescent dragon flies hover. So don’t forget to bring your surf board, fishing rod or paint brush, although happy memories will be made as long as you bring yourself.
