Wadebridge – This bustling market town in North Cornwall offers a wide variety of leisure and shopping opportunities as well as being the perfect base from which to discover the natural beauty of Cornwall and North Cornwall. Visitors to the town can enjoy riverside walks, unique shopping, indoor and outdoor leisure facilities and of course the nationally recognised Camel Trail, 18 miles of traffic free walking and cycling.
Wadebridge is the venue for some of North Cornwall's major events. Find out what rural life is all about at the action packed Royal Cornwall Show. Held every June there's something for all the family. The town comes alive to the sound of music every August Bank Holiday as it hosts the internationally acclaimed Wadebridge Folk Festival. Nearby the stunning gardens of historic houses such as Pencarrow, Lanhydrock and Prideaux Place provide the stage for summer events. From Jazz to Opera, Dog shows to Country fairs - visitors are always welcome and what better way to discover what Wadebridge and the surrounding area really has to offer.
Wadebridge is the gateway to the beautiful scenery and stunning beaches of Rock and Polzeath. This is Betjeman Country - the landscape lovingly evoked by the Poet Laureate in Old Friends, Summoned by Bells, and Seaside Golf. Hear his poetry recited on summer evenings on Brae Hill, overlooking St Enodoc Church where the poet is buried, and see his personal artefacts at the Betjeman Centre, in Wadebridge. Population 7,000
