St Ewe is a pretty village in Cornwall that’s home to 500 people. The church of All Saints dates back many centuries and is a pleasing interlude. For lovers of all things railway, the World of Model Railways has forty trains that run through different scenic displays, or perhaps the real thing is more for you, the Lappa Valley Steam Railway journeys through beautiful Cornish countryside. The Mevagissey Folk Museum tells the story of the village in it’s heyday with interesting exhibits including a Cornish Kitchen. Or how about The Charlestown Shipwreck and Heritage Museum which has exhibits on shipwrecks, a large collection of diving equipment, and an insight into village life with a Blacksmiths Forge and Coopers workshop. For the wonders of Mother Nature a trip to the ‘Lost Gardens of Heligan’ covering 80 acres, was once lost are now definitely found with stunning plants showing in the ‘Italian Garden’, and ‘The Jungle’ has sub tropical plants set in a valley overlooking the harbour. Or why not see the spectacular Eden Project where a million plants are on display under the Biomes. Or perhaps the magnificent architecture of Truro Cathedral dating back centuries will be one temptation too many.
