Par is a delightful village and old fishing port in the magical county of Cornwall, the ‘South West Coastal Path’ passes through the village, which has a wide sandy beach. The Eden Project is a mile or so away, this massive Rain Forest under Biomes, houses over 1,000,000 plants from all of the world, complete with insects, birds and even lizards. For bargain seekers a visit to Cornish Market World will lighten your purse. Or maybe the Charlestown Shipwreck & Heritage Centre is more for you, set within an ancient seaport, shows what life was like with interesting exhibits of shipwrecks, the China Clay Industry and a large collection of diving equipment. Calling all railway enthusiasts, the World Of Model Railways has over thirty model trains in different scenic environments, even ‘Thomas’ is here. Or there is always the chance to climb aboard a Steam Locomotive and journey through pretty scenery for thirteen miles, and be transported back in time to the elegant era of Steam travel on the ‘Bodmin And Wenford Railway‘. Perhaps a trip to St Catherine’s Castle which is a Fort, built by Henry V111 to defend the harbour will excite, or how about 13th Century Restormel Castle built on the site of an earlier structure.
