Marazion is an ancient market town and the oldest town in Britain, laying on the shores of Mounts Bay, where Pilgrims have been arriving for hundreds of years along St Michaels Way. To visit St Michaels Mount , which rises strongly 230 feet above the sea and is capped with a Medieval Castle and church, it was once home to a Benedictine Settlement. Visitors may take a boat across, or wait until low tide and walk along the granite causeway, it will be worth it to feel the magic of this historic site. The Town Hall was once the Gaol and fire station, but is now home to the Museum with many exhibits. There is a thriving Artist community here and it shows, with interesting Art Galleries to be enjoyed. Marazion shares her beauty, whether you chose the stunning coastal paths or tread further inland and discover hidden villages and churches or even a landmark over 5,000 years old such as Lanyon Quoit With beaches, hidden coves, and a Wildlife Sanctuary expanding 131 acres, with birds and insects and thousands of migratory birds at certain times of the year, Marazion and her charm sparkles like a rare diamond in sunlight.
