Rhosneigr is a pleasant coastal village on the Isle of Anglesey in North West Wales, and is home to just over seven hundred people. The village has an intriguing history which dates far back in time, its position overlooking the Irish Sea encouraged Smugglers, and Wreckers who enticed ships to the nearby Crigyll rocks during the 18th Century. There is a vast sandy beach backed by sand dunes which draw surfers, and wind surfers to this seaside village when the surf's up. The area has seen Viking marauders, Roman's and the Celts in times past, and later the Edwardian's who enjoyed the bracing sea air and unspoilt village ensuring it became a popular holiday destination, which continues today. The prime industries of the village has always been tourism and agriculture, both of which continue today with the sheep and cattle which roam the expanse of farm land. Walkers will be pleasantly surprised as the Anglesey Coastal Path journeys close by through stunning countryside where views of the Snowdonia Mountains are revealed. Visitors who stroll along the narrow streets will uncover elegant houses, a good choice of restaurants and pubs; and for anyone who wishes to linger there's a choice of cottages, and B&B's which will ensure a comfortable stay.
