Guilsborough sits at the centre of a collection of rural village between the towns of Northampton, Rugby, Market Harborough and Daventry. The village is easily accessible from the M6 and M1, via the A14. Guilsborough is known for the tale of the 'Guilsborough Witches'. Although there is some uncertainty as to the actual events of this tale, due to small discrepancies in different versions, records show that it is based on actual events. The story tells of Mother Roades, an elderly witch living in nearby Ravensthorpe. She was to be arrested and tried, but died before she could be brought to trial. Just before her death she told of her friends riding out to see her and that they would meet again before the month was out. Her friends were then apparently arrested riding from Guilsborough to Ravensthorpe on the back of a sow. Records are not complete, but they do show that at least some of them were hanged for crimes of witchcraft and sorcery. There is a commemorative plaque in the village from the millennium year that depicts the witches flying over the Grammar School on the back of a sow. A tapestry in the village hall also features three witches riding on a sow. Refreshment can be found at The Ward Arms, whilst accommodation can be found at Guilsborough Lodge, which was built at the end of the 19th century.
