Norton St Phillip is a village in Somerset just a few miles from the City Of Bath. Once the site of a battle in 1685, and the infamous Judge Jefferies proceeded with 12 executions on the village common, much quieter today though. Nearby the magnificent Bath Abbey was started in 1499 and inside the architecture with it’s mesmerizing fan vaulted ceiling will take your breath away, the Abbey has 52 jewel coloured windows. The Romans left a legacy unbeaten, and one of their finest is the Roman Baths where many Romans enjoyed spending time socialising, from the baths both hot or cold, the steam room and so much more. Perhaps a visit to the Postal Museum will explain more than 1d blacks and tuppeny blues with video displays and exhibits, there is even a Victorian Post Office. Or why not enjoy one of the oldest enchanting theatres in Britain, the Theatre Royal is home to musicals, Dramas or how about Handel’s Messiah by Candlelight. Or for the thrill of the animal kingdom Longleat is close, home to many animals, where you can ride on a safari boat, Longleat railway or visit Postman Pats Village, with a maze, the house and a Butterfly garden….
