Riverstown is a charming riverside village that's a popular base for visitors on golfing and fishing holidays. Located on the picturesque River Unshin, the village is within driving distance of several excellent golf courses, notably Rosses Point, a superbly scenic championship links set between Ben Bulben Mountain and the ocean. Riverstown is also convenient to Lough Arrow, which is renowned for great trout fishing. The village is home to Sligo Folk Park, one of north-west Ireland's finest attractions. Taking visitors on a journey through the farming and countryside lifestyles of a bygone era, the park includes a museum and exhibition hall, a traditional cottage, a reconstructed village street, a craft centre and the 19th Century Millview House. The Folk Park also plays host to various events including the Vintage Festival, which attracts thousands of people every June, and the traditional kids' Christmas treat at Santatown. The villagers love the opportunity to have a party, and the annual James Morrison Traditional Music Festival, spread across the pubs, halls and streets of Riverstown in August, is a warmly welcomed event. Elsewhere in the village, the much-loved Coopershill House, an imposing Georgian mansion, offers accommodation and walks, sports and fishing in a magnificent woodland setting
