Glenbeigh is a beautiful little village nestling near the head of Dingle Bay, at the foot of the towering Seefin Mountain. Glenbeigh is situated on the spectacular Ring of Kerry drive and also on the Kerry Way, a traditional and scenic walking route. As a destination in its own right, Glenbeigh has several outstanding attractions apart from its location. Families and watersports enthusiasts adore the vast, safe and sandy Rossbeigh Beach, just a short walk from the village, while twitchers can spend hours, enthralled, at the mudflats, which are home to a wide variety of birdlife. Taking a trip back in time, The Kerry Bog Village - Ireland's only thatched village, located between Glenbeigh and Killorglin - presents a fascinating recreation of Irish life in the 18th Century. The authentic buildings include a turf-cutter's home a blacksmith's shop, a stable, a dairy house, a hen house and a worker's cottage. Back in the present day, Burke's Horse Riding & Activity Centre offers beach and countryside rides to suit adults and children of all abilities. Horses are very much part of the atmosphere in Glenbeigh, where the village's annual festival includes music, entertainment and, as its centrepiece, horse- and pony-racing on Rossbeigh Beach.
