Laghey is a small village in the south of Donegal, hidden away amid rolling hills and mountains. At one end of the main street, the visitor will be charmed by the picturesque river scenery at the Seven Arches Bridge - the village's most memorable landmark. There's plenty to do within a few miles of Laghey. Donegal town, with its history, arts, crafts and friendly pub music sessions, is only four miles away, and some of Donegal Bay's finest beaches are easily reached. They include Rossnowlagh Beach, which is popular with surfers, and the long, sandy Murvagh Beach, famous for its impressive dunes. Murvagh is also the location of the renowned Donegal Golf Club. Situated on a peninsula and surrounded by sand and water, it's an exceptional links course regarded as one of the country's finest. Few visitors will want to miss a boat trip around Donegal Bay, or the chance to spot whales, dolphins and the bay's resident seals, and a new Waterbus service runs tours all year round. Just a little bit further afield, at Castlefin, the more adventurous traveller is welcome to try out X-treme Karting, tank driving and car crushing. More traditional countryside activities such as riding, fishing and hiking are available closer to Laghey.
