Kesh is a pretty, riverside village in the heart of Fermanagh's lovely lakeland. Located little more than a mile from the north- eastern shores of the shimmering Lower Lough Erne, Kesh is an ideal destination for visitors keen on fishing, sailing and watersports. Jet-skiing is especially popular at the lough's Muckross Bay, only minutes away from the village. Other outdoor activities include horse- riding, golfing in nearby Lisnarick (travellers will enjoy the delightful scenic route connecting the two villages), cycling, and hiking through the county's idyllic countryside. Sightseers will find plenty to admire around Kesh. Close to the village are the ivy-clad remains of Crevenish Castle, surviving from the early 17th Century, and the peaceful beauty of Drummoney Falls. Just a few miles away in Tullyhommon, the Celtic stonework and sculptures exhibited at the Cowshed craft studios are worth a visit. The romantic ruins of Castle Caldwell, with forest walks and nature reserves, are a short drive from Kesh, and it's about half an hour in the car to the world-famous Belleek Pottery. The village holds a popular annual carnival over two weekends every August, with competitions and rallies. Evening activities are held in the Mayfly Inn, Kesh's primary entertainment centre.
