To help disabled people find shops, offices, restaurants and other services they will be able to use, it has been suggested that providers should be required to give information to show what kinds of disabled people will be able to access their premises. For example, by showing when steps have been replaced by ramps to assist wheelchair users and when loops have been installed to assist those who are hard of hearing, etc.
The petition simply asks the Prime Minister to appoint and fund a team of experts to develop this proposal to the stage where it can become part of the Disability Discrimination Act.
