London Stansted Airport is thirty miles from London and was used as an Airbase for the US Army in 1942. The Airport is used today by business travellers and holiday makers alike with passenger numbers rising to over 23.5 million in 2007. There is one Terminal building that’s linked to Satellite areas by Air Bridge and a Transit System, the Check In Desks are on the ground floor where Trolleys are readily available. The Airport has excellent travel links by either Rail direct into the Airport, Coaches, Taxis and Buses. For Passengers who wish to drive, the Airport is situated next to Junction 8 on the M11 motorway. On arrival there is a choice of either Short or Long stay car parking and for ease there is always Valet Parking, for Disabled Passengers there are dedicated parking spaces and the opportunity to call or request assistance. The Information Desk is situated in the International Arrivals area and offers a wealth of assistance from photocopying and fax facilities for those who need it, Bus and Rail enquiries and even access to a shower… There are Restaurants, Bars and Cafes many of which are child friendly and provide high chairs, and a children’s menu, and of course for nappy changes or feeding there are dedicated facilities on hand. There is a Soft Play area, or perhaps the Arcade Games will test their skills. There are shops to browse and Tax and Duty Free shopping to enjoy. ATM machines spread throughout the Terminal Building accept all major Debit and Credit Cards, and for currency exchange there are also Bureau De Change on offer. The Executive Lounge offers comfort and complimentary drinks together with snacks. Disabled Passengers have specially adapted toilets, dedicated parking and seating areas, together with an Induction Loop and adapted telephones.
