Liverpool John Lennon Airport is a bright modern airport placed adjacent to the River Mersey, and only seven miles from the centre of Liverpool, the Airport was the first ever Airport in the UK to be named after an individual. There is easy access either by Bus, Coach, or Taxi, and for those passengers wishing to drive the Airport is to be found off the A561, at Junction 6 on the M62, and Junction 12 on the M56. The Airport officially opened back in 1933 but many changes have happened since then, and passenger numbers rose to 5.5 million in 2007. The bright terminal building has an impressive 7’ statue of John Lennon that over looks the Check In Hall where many Check In Desks ease the wait. There are the usual ATM machines that accept all major Debit and Credit Cards and Bureau De Change in which to exchange currency. With a wide range of Restaurants in the Food Village together with cafes and Bars there is certainly something for everyone…. Fast Lane will speed passengers through the Security Area, the varied choice of shops together with Tax and Duty Free shopping will likely be one temptation too many. The Information Desk offers a host of help including access for Passenger Rooms where medication may be administered in privacy. WIFI is provided throughout the Terminal Building and Internet Kiosks are also available. For Disabled Passengers there is dedicated parking, specially adapted toilets, low level telephones and an Induction Loop. The Play Area, Nappy Changing facilities and Arcade is sure to please the young ones, and the JLA Collection won’t fail to impress with photo’s, Art and fascinating memorabilia, for the curious the Fossil Mystery Tour offers a link with ancient history as amazing fossils are set into the floor………………….
