Welcome the Hartshanger is an Edwardian gentleman's residence set above the village of Porlock in the heart of the Exmoor National Park. The top floor of the main house and the coach house have been converted into a splendid/ beautiful self-catering accommodation. It comes with some lovely features such as: Beams, sloping ceilings and patchwork quilts in the bedrooms. We share our wonderful home with a Westie, Buster, a cat, Annie and the occasional deer and badger. We are set in the middle of about 5 acres with wonderful views over Porlock Bay towards Wales. On your arrival we provide a welcome pack of locally sourced essentials such as milk and bread. This is a peaceful place, with the only sounds being that of the surf on the beach below and the occasional call from a seagull, buzzard, cow or sheep. It is the ideal place for those wanting to get away from it all and relax or walk our beautiful Exmoor countryside. There is a hard tennis court on site and sea and river fishing, horse riding, cycling and mountain biking near by. Bring you own bikes as we have a secure store and washing down area. You'll find that it's only a short 5 minute walk to the shops or the local pub, restaurant or food shop. Porlock is a lively, friendly village and you'll always find something going on, in this popular local village. Please Note: Non-smoking. No pets are permitted on the premises.
